The District Leadership Committee has announced that it has selected Jim Hogge, of Boise Sunrise, to become our District Governor for the Rotary year 2016-2017. As of July 1, 2014, he will become our "Distict Governor Nominee (DGN)". He will follow Rick Phillips and Ken Howell.
 
Jim has been a member of Boise Sunrise since 1995. He has served Rotary as Club President and Assistant Governor, as well as serving on the district Training and Awards Committees. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Foundation Bequest Society member.

Jim is an Idaho native.  He grew up in Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell.  Jim obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the College of Idaho in 1971, a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida in 1991, and a degree in accounting from Boise State University in May 1993. 
 
Jim completed a military career, retiring from the U. S. Air Force in 1991.  The majority of his career was devoted to flying.  He flew the F-111 as a navigator for over 12 years.  The remainder of his career was focused on the development and testing of new aircraft systems. 
 
Jim Hogge was with the Idaho Small Business Development Center for 20 years.  He has served as the State Director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center from 1995 -2013.  He retired in Jan 2013 from Boise State University.
 
Jim also helped start the TechHelp program for Idaho manufacturers, the TechConnect Program for high entrepreneurs, and the TECenter at Boise State University.
 
He has been a member of the Boise Sunrise Rotary Club since 1995.  He was the Club’s president 2005-06.  He has served the District on the Training Committee and the Awards Committee.  As an Assistant District Governor, he served four District Governors from 2008 to 2012.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow, Bequest Society member, and Bob Gibbs Fellow.
 
Carla and he have been married since 1970.  They have one granddaughter Adella, who has her first birthday in January.  Adella’s parents, Kate and Will Fowler, are members of Rotary in Caldwell and Boise.
