Brand new, freshly minted, we are so excited to be able to contribute to Rotary efforts in our District. Our club was formed using a charter from the former Portneuf Pocatello Club. We are grateful to them for their stewardship in extending their charter and enabling Rotary to innovate in this way.
The e-Club meets twice a month using Zoom! video conferencing platform, and in the short time we’ve been official, we have arranged to donate 200 trees to other 5400 Clubs, donated hundreds of service hours to agencies that serve at risk children, and plan to sponsor a student to RYLA this summer.
We have had guest speakers join us from other parts of the state, from North Carolina, and next week, a speaker from Yale will join us to speak on carbon and phosphorus offsets to help us in our efforts to care for our earth. We are known as the No Pants Club (we will never tell) the Less than a Latte Club (our dues are $200 a year) and the No Guilt Club (we want membership to be easy). We are heavy on CLUB as it is defined by hearts knit as one. We are heavy on SERVICE as it lifts and builds community in many different ways, and by giving our time and our means to do good. We are light on the E in e-Club…and we do not want anyone to feel intimidated by that “e”. Zooming into a meeting is as easy as clicking on a link. You can Zoom in from your car, recliner, dining room, hotel room, or literally anyplace with an internet connection. No parking, no luncheon, no early breakfast, just an easy click. We are doing exciting stuff and having fun.
