The Rotary District 5400 Scholarship Committee is proud to announce 2019-2020 recipient

The Rotary District 5400 Scholarship Committee is proud to announce that Hailey Petersen of Nampa, Idaho, has been chosen as the 2019-2020 Rotary District 5400 Scholarship recipient.  Hailey is a freshman at the University of Idaho who is planning to major in finance.  She has attended RYLA and is dedicated to helping other people.  Hailey will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2019-2020 year and will be eligible to receive additional scholarship awards through her senior year of study as long as she continues to meet the guidelines each year.  We had a large number of exceptional applicants this year and we wish all of them the very best in their college careers.

 

The Scholarship Committee’s next task is to begin the process of opening applications for the Rotary Global Grant Scholarship.  This scholarship may be used to fund graduate level study in one of the six areas of focus.  Those areas are:  Peace and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, and finally Economic and Community Development.  Applications will open on November 1, 2019, and we will be reaching out to your clubs with more information on encouraging students to apply prior to that date.
