In preparing for some recent meetings, I was on the Rotary International (RI) website reviewing some content and found myself inspired by the amazing things we collectively do together. Rotary is dedicated to causes that build local and international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever. If one is a Rotarian, this is something we know. If one is not familiar with Rotary, this might seem impossible. Yet we know it is possible!
As a humanitarian and service organization, peace is the foundation of the Rotary mission, and we create the space and opportunity for that to happen in many ways. It all starts when we sit together in communities and have conversations in a café, over a meal, while engaging in a service project, and find ways for even more people to get involved. If you haven’t checked out the 7 areas of focus lately check out this site: Our Causes | Rotary International. And if you want to take a deeper dive, get started by checking out this free online course: Peace Academy (positivepeace.academy).
And finally, I hope you’ll join me at the Peace Café during District Celebration, you’ll have a great time!
