D5400 New Year’s Eve Happy Hour A Success
I’m happy to report that the first ever virtual D5400 New Year’s Eve happy hour was such a success that an hour just wasn’t long enough…so we kept at it for over two hours! We not only enjoyed the company of D5400 Rotarians, we were also joined by one of our favorite Rotarians visiting from Guatemala, Curt Bowen, and also by an out-of-stater named Owen Standley who shared his quest to hike the Appalachian Trail to raise funds for Polio Plus (more info on that can be found at https://www.hikeforpolio.org/ ).
Because this event was such a hit, the D5400 Membership Team has decided to have a district-wide social “hour” every month for all of 2021! These events will be held on the last Friday of the month beginning January 29th. This event is open to every single Rotarian in District 5400.
Our very own D5400 e-Club has agreed to partner with the Membership Team and act as our host/Zoom Master. This will be a virtual service project for this up-and-coming club. Thank you for partnering with us and for your service to our district! This will be a recurring event and the same link will be used for the duration.
You can also find it on the district calendar on the D5400 website. https://rotary5400.org/events/calendar
The social hour(s) will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until we’ve had our fill. When it comes to Rotarians and socializing, you never know how the night will end…. Please grab your favorite beverage and cozy up to your computer screen to meet up with old friends…and hopefully make some new ones, too! Feel free to pop in and stay as little (or as long) as you’d like. You never know what you’ll find…we may play games, have a trivia contest, or just enjoy fellowship with each other. If you have a great idea for something fun to do during our socials, please pass it along. We’d love to hear from you!
