District 5400 Honored at Zone Institute

Some of the District 5400 Leadership Team attended Rotary Zone 26/27 Institute in Spokane last month. Our combined zones are also known as the “Big West” zone because it’s made up of all of Western US and Canada. It was a fun conference, with great speakers and peer-to-peer breakout sessions. Zone Institute is also when districts who made exceptional achievements in the previous year are celebrated. And our own District 5400 was part of that! Of the 30 districts in the Big West zone, there were 3 categories in which District 5400 was honored:

PUBLIC IMAGE: Youth Engagement

The Youth Eco Film Contest organized last year by the Environmental Sustainability Action Team was the top project to engage youth with the Rotary brand and message. Well done, ESAT! The team is already planning to repeat the project in this Rotary year.

MEMBERSHIP: Existing Member Retention

District 5400 was in first place in Zone 27 for retaining members during the 2023-24 Rotary year. Nice work, everyone—now the next step is to grow!

MEMBERSHIP: Inductees into the Membership Society

David Riffe–the first inductee in our district!–now has Bronze status after having sponsored a total of 25 new Rotarians during his Rotary career. Congratulations, David. What’s your secret?

Are you promoting Rotary to your community? Are you inviting a friend or colleague to your club? With your support and effort, we can do it again this year!
