HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Those words evoke the spirit of renewal and hope for the upcoming year. It is an incredible time of year to look forward and determine how we, as Rotarians, can make a difference in our communities, in our world, and in ourselves.
January is Vocational Service month. Many of you may wonder what that means? Rotarians have many talents and this is the month to think of what you do professionally and perhaps discover ways that can be impactful. Vocational Service—”Promoting the ‘ideal of service’ throughout our business or professional world.” Sharing our service in club meetings and by allowing job shadowing or interning at our business are examples. I know each of us can get creative with how we can serve with our chosen profession.
One exciting way to ring in the New Year is to take a plunge into Lucky Peak Reservoir with other Rotarians and Youth Exchange Students on behalf of Make A Wish Foundation. Thank you to Grant Loveridge (Boise Southwest) for setting up the team and Laura Spencer (Eagle-Garden City) for encouraging us to participate! The exchange students will have a memory that will last a lifetime and we Rotarians had a blast.
Save the Date for our District 5400 conference. The conference will be at The Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho, April 26th-28th. We look forward to connecting with you there!
