Sister Club – Rotary Club of Accra Airport East, Ghana

The Rotary Club of Meridian, Idaho, answered the call to be a Sister Club to the Rotary Club of Accra Airport East in Ghana. In November, Meridian Rotarian Janice Fulkerson traveled to Ghana with the goal of launching the Sister Club relationship, delivering over 300 pounds of supplies and $400 to the Renel Ghana Foundation to serve an orphanage, and kicking off a water project in Takoradi, Ghana.

Both Rotary Clubs, in Sister Club style, delivered on all three goals and deepened the friendships and service connections to Unite for Good! The supplies included 50 pounds of books, 55 pairs of shoes that grow, over 100 new clothing items, 15 backpacks, and $400 for the personal hygiene pad program to keep young girls in school. Thanks and gratitude go to the partnering clubs, individuals, and organizations who supported this service project! Mandela Washington Fellows from 2024 Cohort who were in Idaho, Rotary Club of Boise Metro, Meridian Library District, and more.

Here is a video that aired on the local news broadcasts in Accra, Ghana that talks more about the Sister Clubs. Rotary Clubs across D5400 and beyond are invited to join Meridian and Accra in expanding the reach for service, fellowship, and friendships.
