about the District match? What’s the big deal about the $100 match that brings me closer to my Paul Harris Fellow? Helping Rotarians reach the milestone of becoming a Paul Harris Fellow is really about Annual Fund-SHARE. The BIG deal is that the more money we Rotarians contribute to the Annual Fund-SHARE (aka Paul Harris) of the Rotary Foundation, the more money we have for the TRF district grants in three years. The mechanism of matching the first $100 one contributes toward their Paul Harris Fellow is merely the district’s tool to determine who is eligible for the match.
We had more than $34,000 in the “match account” on July 1, 2023. We have $9,400 remaining to spend in June. Money for the district match comes from proceeds of the district raffle held in conjunction with the District Conference. Contributions to Annual Fund-SHARE help clubs reach their foundation-giving goals and move Rotarians closer to the honor of a Paul Harris Fellow. Remember, clubs whose Annual Fund giving is <$100/capita giving. Do this: request the district match for your club (instructions sent to club presidents and treasurers last week) and help District 5400 have more money for our district grants. This year, 26 clubs and the district received a Rotary Foundation District grant ranging from $800 to $5,000. Was your club one of them?
