Let’s continue to Create Hope in the World and in our Communities!

What a privilege it has been serving as your District Governor this Rotary year. The Rotary Clubs in our District are committed to serving both the world and their communities.  Whether helping at a fundraiser or service project, it was evident that the Rotary club was a vital part of the community they were serving. The impact the clubs make in our District was confirmed by the stories of the participants and members.

Mental Health has been at the forefront of many conversations. Our Rotary Clubs partnered with NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) to participate in walks in Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Boise. We were able to raise awareness and assist in reducing stigma regarding mental illness! This is just the beginning of the conversation in Idaho.

At our District Conference we saw videos created by youth in our district on simple ways we can make a difference thanks to the hard work of the Earth Stewardship Committee.  Ben Davidson shared his passion for Entrapov (Entrepreneurs Against Poverty) and the Rotary Shark Pond concept that clubs are embracing. Thank you to the Rotarians who participated in a Braver Angels forum before our District Conference to embrace civil conversations. See the great coverage by KTVB here: Braver Angels on KTVB

We have tireless Rotary volunteers at both the club and district level who have a heart for truly “Creating Hope in the World”. Rotarians continue to be the leaders in their communities by choosing to be the catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and impact.

Thank you for the honor of serving you this Rotary year as District Governor. It truly was a joy!
