Finding your next club president + PELS / Pre-PELS plans

Could You Be the Next Club President?

Here’s Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Step Up

As we begin a new Rotary year, we invite every club member to take a thoughtful look at one of Rotary’s most rewarding opportunities: club president.

Roughly 25% of our clubs have already identified who will lead them in 2026–27, and we applaud their preparation. For the rest, this isn’t just a reminder to choose someone, it’s a call to consider stepping up yourself.

Serving as a Rotary club president is a unique way to make a difference, not only in your community but in your own leadership journey. Whether you’ve been a Rotarian for decades or just a few years, this role offers a chance to inspire service, strengthen connections, and shape your club’s future.

Why Decide Now?

Early identification means more time to prepare and greater impact when the time comes to lead. Having time to observe, learn, and start planning can make the role much more rewarding. By stepping into the role now, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running.

And the support you’ll receive is unparalleled. You’re not alone. You’ll join a network of incoming presidents across the Northwest, all preparing together.

What’s Ahead: Training That Equips and Inspires

Pre-PELS Training Events are being planned for November and December here in the district. These five-hour sessions provide practical leadership tools and insights for incoming presidents—or club representatives if your 2026–27 leader isn’t chosen yet. More details to come on these.

Additionally, the President-Elect Learning Seminar (PELS) will be held Feb 20–22, 2026, in Seattle. This signature event gathers club presidents-elect from nine Rotary districts across the Northwest. With dynamic keynote speakers, leadership workshops, and peer networking, it’s designed to energize and empower you before your year begins. Once again this year, District 5400 subsidizes most of the cost—making it an unbeatable value.

Step Up. Lead Forward.

If you’ve ever thought about doing more in Rotary or bringing a fresh perspective to your club, this is your moment. Talk to your club leadership. Ask questions. Nominate yourself or express your interest.

Leadership in Rotary isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present, thoughtful, and willing to help your club grow.
