Peace – An area of Focus and YOU

The D5400 Peace Builders are meeting the 4th Wednesday of every other month at 4pm MT (Virtually), and anyone interested is welcome to join! The Peace Builders are focused on promote peace building activities at the club and district levels by hosting peace walks, recognizing community peace heroes, promote peace clubs, recruiting peace fellows, hosting Open World delegations, and much more. The committee is a resource to anyone in District 5400 who would like to engage in this area of focus.

In addition to the general areas of peace building, there are other specific areas of focus that include:

  1. Establish D5400 as an Official Peace District
  2. Prevent Human Trafficking: develop and implement plans to engage members in efforts to prevent human trafficking, provide education on the topic, share community resources.
  3. Red, White & Blue – Bridging the Gap (Braver Angels): develop and implement engagement activities with members and the community in sessions with a focus on peace building, root cause, and connection.
  4. Improving Student Lives:  anti-bullying education and efforts in partnership with schools and communities where gaps are identified.  This includes youth peace camps, districtwide service projects to help ensure no child goes hungry.  Goal to reduce poverty expand education because when poverty is reduces, peace increases.
  5. Mental Health: continue the alliance with mental health efforts districtwide.
  6. BHAG: Establish a Peace Institute at BSU
