What a Ride!

I would be remiss by not thanking all those who started this “ride” with me as we visited clubs, attended trainings, conducted meetings and generally were privileged to meet so many of our Rotary District 5400 family! What a ride with stops at 43 “stations” (yes, we did visit the Teton Valley club)!  These are really the BEST of TIMES!

How can one thank the backbone of our District – Our clubs!  I had the honor and privilege to visit each one and learned so much. They are all unique yet still spread the same Rotary mission of Service Above Self – it is done differently but it is done. I am proud to serve as your leader this year as we watched our e-clubs form; our membership grow (a bit – but we are on the right track) and friendships form and deepen!

A special shout out to all the District Leadership Council for their assistance, advice and deepened friendship this past year. I am blessed beyond measure to know you and work with you each time!

Our 2026 Conference Team never got off track due to the diligence of our Engineer, John Buck and his capable and fun-loving crew. If I tried to list all their names I might miss one but please know Registration, the Silent Auction, the Photo Booth, the Speakers, the Hotel staff, the AV crew and the conference attendees brought the magic of Rotary to all who attended. A special “thank you” goes to Rob Pearson for pulling all the thoughts and ideas together to make it work.

I would be remiss by not mentioning my own club of Emmett Rotarians who supported me – even when I couldn’t attend many meetings they continued with love and support in so many ways! I have always been proud to be an Emmett Rotarian and they made me even prouder!

I am excited to report that when my Governor year ends on June 30 I will still be involved by serving as the Polio Plus chairman for the District. I thank Mike Markley, your incoming District Governor, for his support of me in this position and Norb Murray for all the advice I know he will give me.

Thank you to each of you who called, wrote, volunteered (or were voluntold) this year. I have a very special place in my heart for every club, every club officer and every District chairman!  WE did this TOGETHER!

Thank you,

Kathy Buck D5400

25-26 Rotary District Governor
