This year’s district conference ended with a bang when the winning raffle tickets were drawn. This year’s winner of the grand prize was Ian Turner with the Idaho Falls Rotary Club who won an $8,000 VISA gift card plus $2,000 of paid IRS withholding tax! The second prize of a $2,000 VISA gift card went to Kim Scheffer of the Boise East Rotary Club. Lauren Murdoch of the Blackfoot Rotary Club won the third prize $1,000 VISA gift card.
The other raffle “winners” included the clubs that participated as they received a rebate based on the number of tickets they sold. Rebate checks went out in late June.
Thank you to all of the club presidents-elect who managed the raffle for their club. The top selling clubs were Boise Sunrise Rotary with $8,520 in sales, Boise Downtown with $6,400 in sales and Twin Falls Rotary with $3,900 in sales.
The net proceeds are used by District 5400 for Paul Harris matches that promote gifts to the Rotary Foundation and to pay costs of the annual President-Elect leadership (PELS) training held in Seattle.
